Good news for chocolate lovers: there is a healthy way to make chocolate mousse without adding the sweet poison known as refined sugar. I believe that a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to equal a deprived lifestyle. It’s all about moderation. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the occasional healthy treat to satisfy a craving. In this case, you can have your chocolate mousse and eat it too!
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 small ripe bananas
- 2 heaping tablespoons organic cacao powder
- 4 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1/4 cup of your favourite milk
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon unrefined sea salt
optional toppings: cacao nibs and berries
Place all ingredients (except toppings) in high speed blender and blend until soft, creamy and mousse-like. Add more milk if necessary to reach desired consistency. Chill until cold (if you can wait that long) and serve with cacao nibs and fresh berries. Serves 4
